We have to drive past the site most days as they are getting ready, this normally starts conversations about how much we had fun last year, and what food might be there. Phoebe has an incredible memory and seems to remember something from every year that she has been.
And then the friends arrive, this again brings a wave of excitment over our little house, tents are pegged into the back yard, and the fun and laughter begins. This year Byron again put on its show of rain for the festival, which makes it a little muddy but non the less a great time is still had by all.
We took the girls on Thursday night as this is a normally a little quieter, but not this year! The girls had a ball, Coco had her first ride on a Ferris Wheel and her little eyes told of her experience (photos to come) Phoebe loves live music and was giggling with pure excitment most of the night. After some food and a ride we set up a mat to watch John Mayer. It was funny because Coco came to life with the start of his set and danced like a crazy girl with Jo(oo) and Phoebe became subdued and just watched!!! After John I took the girls home and as I picked a sleepy Coco out of her seat she said to me, "I had a really time at the booze and roots Mama..." How CUTE?
Phoebe went back again with Jo and Daniel on the Saturday, and came home on a high(not just the sugar!!!). I got to go again childfree on Sunday and had an ace time.
After the Blues Fest, we always get the post blues blues, so the tent is packed and the friends are home safely, and now we are a little blue but we have little stories that Phoebe keeps bringing up, and as always, there is ALWAYS next year!
