Autumn Festival

As each season arrives we acknowledge it by changing the seasonal table in our house and by taking part in the seasonal festival at Phoebe's school.
Today was the autumn festival, it was such a beautiful day, we started with songs and then all the families gathered for a little picnic in the garden. Followed by a swim at the beach.
Living where we are, the seasonal changes are so subtle that when I first arrived it felt like summer all the time. And now after over 3 years here the changes are easier for me to see. Like the changes in the flowers that are in bloom, even being at the beach is different, the sand changes and the water is still warm from summer, but the sun is so beautiful and you can stay and play all day without being burnt. And now Phoebe has become more aware of the seasonal changes too, she showed me how the light is changing in the house now its autumn. She showed me how the sun is coming through the kitchen windows differently now, and we had to move the sun catchers for this reason.
I forgot my camera today, however I will add a table photo soon, the table is still getting finishing touches, as we walk we are finding more and more things each day to add. And Lucas is bringing a whole heap of acorns home from Melbourne which we look forward to turning into fairies and other lovely things.
